About us

How we Started

We started Tiles for Smiles to support and motivate our youngest daughter, who has right hemiparesis, a form of cerebral palsy, as the result of a pediatric stroke. We wanted to create a fun activity, by making cement art tiles. What began as just a fun thing to do with our children, grew as an idea to help other children.

Our Mission

Tiles for Smiles is a family helping to raise awareness of pediatric strokes. Our intent is to provide schools, religious and other charitable organizations a resource to expand activities for children, by providing engraved tile, stone and any other item that can assist their efforts. Through the provision of specialty craft items, and participation in local craft events, we work to raise support, and awareness for pediatric strokes.

“Tiles for Smiles generously donated hundreds of craft tiles for a special Quest activity at the Willowdale Steeplechase Kid’s Alley Tent. Hundreds of children stopped by to color a tile and then took them home as a memento from the event. The children loved to see their picture emerging as they colored. Thanks to Tiles for Smiles for creating this magical moment for children in our community!”
